Nathalie Loriers, Philippe Aerts, Joost van Schaik

Opening concert of the new season 2010 - 2011 with three jazz giants from The Netherlands and Belgium.

Jazz trio, Nathalie Loriers – Belgian jazz pianist and composer, Joost van Schaik – Dutch percussionist, and Philippe Aerts – Belgian jazz contrabassist will perform on September 7 in Theater aan het Vrijthof.

Nathalie Loriers is one of Belgium’s best-known jazz pianists and composers. She won several Belgian and French jazz awards and is always involved with important innovations in jazz.

Philippe Aerts is considered by many people as the best jazz bassist of Belgium. As from September 1, he will be teaching contrabass at the Maastricht Conservatory. He played among others with Philip Catherine, Bert Joris, Chet Baker and Joe Henderson.

Percussionist Joost van Schaik won the Leuven Jazz Award 2008 and can be heard on every important Dutch stage.
