Jazz Maastricht Promenade 2009 visited by almost 60.000 visitors

19th edition of the four day taking jazz festival in the centre of Maastricht.

During the weekend of 22-25 October about ten thousand music lovers enjoyed the Jazz Promenade, where 500 artists performed dozens of music styles at 62 different stages. The line up contained especially for the festival created productions and many high quality formations could be heard. 

A retrospect

After a great kick-off concert of New Cool Collective in Gran hotel de l’Empereur, the 19th edition of the Jazz Maastricht Promenade started a week later. Here a short retrospect on 4 great and musical days.
 
Thursday 22 October 2009 

Today the Jazz Maastricht Promenade starts. The 19th edition of the four day taking free jazz festival full with special projects (Promenade Surprises), cross-over styles, young talents, big bands and swinging acts. In the cafés and at other stages in the center of Maastricht you can enjoy a diversity  of music. 
Joep van leeuwen and Gero Körner will perform the unique project ‘Jazz Guitar Meets Church Organ’ at 18:30 hrs in the Martinus Church in Wijck. At RTVMaastricht a preview was already broadcasted about this extraordinary meeting.

They happened to be witnesses of a very intimate and personal concert performed by Roderik Povel and the members of his trio, completed by bass, drums, cello and the violin. (..)”.
